ESPN's Adam Schefter blasted for Shedeur Sanders news on Browns' QB future image

There will be some who will always believe that Cleveland Browns QB Shedeur Sanders has too much of the media spotlight.

But at this point, that's not going away. There can still be plenty of questions asked, though, about how Sanders' situation is framed.

And this weekend, ESPN's Adam Schefter has been under fire from fellow NFL media for the way he shared some "new" Sanders news.

Schefter reported in a recent article that Sanders is going to be given an "extended" look as Browns quarterback, crediting the news to anonymous sources.

One of the first to chime in was Browns beat reporter Zac Jackson of The Athletic:

Then it was NFL data analyst Anthony Reinhard, who shared these thoughts in a thread on X:

"So much of the Shedeur media frenzy is acting surprised about things that are normal. He’s under contract for 3 more years and is starting over another healthy QB. Obviously he’s going to get some long-term consideration."

Those are both fair points.

It really isn't news that the Browns are giving Sanders a look. That was shown by them giving him the start over a healthy Gabriel.

Now it's up to Sanders to make the most of it.
