When former Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski was fired last week after another underwhelming season, finishing below.500 and missing the playoffs, many candidates emerged for the position.
Current defensive coordinator and former Detroit Lions head coach Jim Schwartz was one of those candidates who received buzz and co-signs, especially from the Brown's defensive players.
Although no official hire has been made, some professionals in the Cleveland area are already unhappy if Schwartz is named the next head coach, and the reason may surprise many.

Would Schwartz taking the head coach position ruin the defense?
During the weekly radio show based on Cleveland sports debates, '92.3 The Fan' co-host Johnathan Peterlin made it known he has a significant problem with Schwartz becoming the head coach.
The issue with the decision is concern about the defense, with doubts about its effectiveness.
"My only problem with putting Schwartz as the head coach is that I get worried that you take away himas the DC, so you lose the best thing that he did," Peterlin confessed. He further explained his point by stating that, in a sense, the coordinator would be a completely different person, as he would be in charge of many things without being solely responsible for the defense.
When Peterlin puts it like this, it makes much more sense because even though, it's a possibility that Schwartz could still have a hand in the defensive playcalling, he pretty much would be surrending his control of the defensive unit and if the coordinator brought in after doesn't perform as well as Schwartz or similarly, that could present another problem for the team.
