Cleveland Browns have interest in hiring Bill Belichick, says NFL insider image

Should the Cleveland Browns lose their remaining three games, it will mark the second consecutive season in which they finished 3-14, meaning head coach Kevin Stefanski could certainly be on his way out.

Should the Browns decide to fire the two-time Coach of the Year, there are several names they could explore to make their next head coach. Brian Flores, Jesse Minter, and Chris Shula are all names to keep an eye on around the NFL. However, NFL insider Josina Anderson reports that there are multiple people in the Browns organization that would be interested in bringing in Bill Belichick.

"I'm told there's been recent interest expressed, at the very least, in speaking with Bill Belichick on a exploratory basis from two teams, per league source," Anderson reports on X. "My understanding is Belichick has upper-level personnel still fond of him in Atlanta, New York, Cleveland, whilst all struggling teams going through customary evaluations this time of year."

Belichick was the head coach of the Browns from 1991-95 before he was fired and the team moved to Baltimore. He then went to New England to join his former boss, Bill Parcells, as the Patriots' assistant head coach and defensive backs coach before leaving with Parcells and going to the New York Jets from 1997-99. When Parcells stepped down as head coach, Belichick was named the new head coach before infamously resigning and going back to New England, going on to win six Super Bowls. He is currently the head coach at the University of North Carolina.
