The Cleveland Browns are entering the final week of the 2025 NFL season to see one last glimpse of the young players on this roster before making major offseason decisions.
There isn't a more important player to analyze than Shedeur Sanders. A strong Week 18 finale against the Cincinnati Bengals could be a huge help in getting a lay of the land for 2026 and beyond.
To help give Sanders as good a chance to succeed as possible, the Browns, according to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, have gone out and signed a new center off the Detroit Lions practice squad to help give Sanders better protection.
Browns sign Lions OL off practice squad
"The Browns are signing center Kinsgley Eguakun off the Lions practice squad, per me and @MikeGarafolo," Rapoport reported Wednesday morning.
Cleveland needs all of the help it can get along the offensive line. While the Bengals are not some dominant pass-rush team, the Browns' depth chart has been tested.
Ethan Pocic is done for the year, and multiple other linemen, including Jack Conklin, Teven Jenkins, and Dawand Jones, have all been hurt for parts of the 2025 season.
Adding some extra depth to the offensive line room is a must, and Eguakun, a rookie UDFA who appeared in four games for the Lions this season and is just 24 years old, is now with the Browns.

This isn't just a move to help the depth for Week 18 of the 2025 NFL season. This move could also play a huge role in 2026 and beyond, as the Browns are adding some talent to their offensive line room for very little.
Instead of waiting until the offseason, this Eguakun signing could be seen as a move to help add depth to the future of the Browns roster.
Andrew Berry has been managing the roster well lately, and this signing is a savvy move to add some depth and a starting option in the final week of 2025 and into the 2026 season.
