Browns' Shedeur Sanders faces toughest matchup yet in Week 15 vs. Bears image

The Cleveland Browns are 3-10, but they have some of the more interesting players to watch this season. Their rookie have been incredible, and Myles Garrett is chasing the NFL sack record.

But, Shedeur Sanders might be the most interesting of the bunch. After a massive NFL Draft slide, Sanders has played well for the Browns in his limited work so far this season.

Heading into Week 15 against the Chicago Bears, Sanders is facing his biggest test. The Bears' defense isn't as stifling as the Browns', Houston Texans', or Seattle Seahawks' defenses. But, as ESPN's Daniel Oyefusi notes, they're a very turnover-happy defense.

Browns' Sheder Sanders faces the toughest defense yet in Week 15

"The next test for rookie QB Shedeur Sanders, who will start the final four games," Oyefusi writes, "is a Bears defense that leads the NFL with 18 interceptions."

It's Week 15, and in Sanders' appearances since his NFL debut in Week 11, he's thrown three interceptions. The Bears' defense is the best at forcing turnovers, which makes for a tough matchup for Sanders in his fourth start.

While the Tennessee Titans and San Francisco 49ers are some tough competition, the Browns and Sanders have yet to face a defense as good as the Bears since Sanders took over at quarterback.

With matchups against the Buffalo Bills, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Cincinnati Bengals to close out the year, Sanders' last chance against a robust defense is in Week 15 against the Bears.

Kevin Stefanski acknowledged this tough matchup for Sanders, pointing out how great the Bears' defense has played this season. "I think they have some players with outstanding ball skills and anticipatory skills to go to footballs," Stefanski said.

Sanders needs to maintain ball security, especially with the freezing temperatures in Chicago on Sunday. Playing well this week will be a huge boost for the Browns quarterback in his effort to convince Cleveland to give him another year as the starter.

Things have gone well thus far for Sanders, and a solid game, where he doesn't turn over the ball, or at least not due to his own fault, then Sanders could have a huge leg-up on the competition for the Browns starting QB job in 2026.
