There are a lot of different throws that a quarterback is asked to make every game.

For the Cleveland Browns' Shedeur Sanders, some of his highlight throws are nothing short of remarkable.

A deep shot over the middle of the field to Isaiah Bond has been a staple of the offense, but it's not the best playcall Sanders has. There's a different throw that Sanders makes that has him as the best QB in recent NFL history.

According to ESPN's Ben Solak, Sanders has the highest EPA per dropback of any quarterback in the Next Gen Stats database at one specific playcall: a screen pass.

Browns' Shedeur Sanders has a case as being the best screen passer in recent NFL history

"1.23: That's Shedeur Sanders' EPA per dropback on screen passes this season." Solak writes. "It's the highest number of any season in the Next Get Stats database."

The Next Gen Stats database dates back to the mid-2010s, meaning that Sanders is better than any quarterback on screen passes over the last decade or so.

On screen passes this season, Sanders has gone 11-16 for 210 yards with six first downs and one touchdown. He's averaging 13.1 yards per screen. These are throws at or behind the line of scrimmage.

As Solak points out, the average yards per attempt on a screen pass is just 5.6. Sanders has more than double the yards per pass than the average screen attempt. But, as Solak points out, it can somehow get even better.

"Somehow, Sanders has a completion percentage 80% under expectation on screens, which is 406th out of 437 quarterbacks in this sample -- so there's even room for improvement! The screen game could be better!"

Sanders has been one of the more polarizing quarterbacks this season. But he's also been very entertaining since his NFL debut.

Kevin Stefanski and Tommy Rees have been cooking up great playcalls on screens this season, and while Sanders has struggled at times, he's been able to benefit greatly from well-timed screen passes.

The Browns' offense is far from a great one this season, but somehow, this team has sole claim over the most efficient screen game in recent NFL history, according to Next Gen Stats EPA per dropback.
