The storyline of the Cleveland Browns' season has been the sheer dominance of Myles Garrett every week. He's closing in on the NFL single-season sack record, with 21.5 sacks through Week 15.
With three more weeks to go, Garrett only needs one more sack to tie the current NFL record held by T.J. Watt and Michel Strahan. But if he does reach that mark, there might be some scrutiny over reaching it with an extra game. That's not a valid excuse for Garrett.
As Aaron Schatz of FTN Fantasy noted, Garrett is having the most efficient season by a pass rusher, likely ever. Among pass rushers with at least 18 sacks in a season, Garrett is having by far the most efficient year of any pass rusher.

Schatz's chart highlights how many sacks players had compared to their team's passing downs, and the pass-per-sack ratio. Garrett has 21.5 sacks on 437 passes, for 20.3 passes per sack, the best season by a pass rusher by this metric from Schatz.

These are the lowest figures of "team passes per sack" for players with at least 18 sacks in a season.

What makes this so impressive is that the next best season, Reggie White's 1987 season with 21 sacks, had a 24.8 passes per sack ratio, which is the second-best mark in NFL history.
Another way to look at this metric is that Garrett is generating a sack every 20.3 plays, while White, in his historic 1987 season, recorded a sack every 24.8 plays.
The Browns' superstar pass rusher is all but a shoo-in to be the Defensive Player of the Year, and based on his production this season, he might be carving out the greatest individual season by a pass rusher in NFL history.

If Garrett were to keep pace for the final three games of the season, then he could be looking at around another 4.5 more sacks this season, which would put him at a ridiculous total of 26 this season.
Depending on how the final three weeks of the season unfold, Garrett might be able to lay claim to having the best season by a pass rusher in NFL history.
This statistic from Schatz highlights just how efficient and great he's been, as it makes the case for Garrett to have such a distinction of the greatest pass-rushing season ever.
