The Cleveland Browns came into their Week 5 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings with a new look. They had their 2025 third-round draft pick, Dillon Gabriel, out there under center for his first NFL start.
Some were excited to see if this would translate into Jerry Jeudy being a bigger force on offense, but that did not come to fruition. Jeudy was targeted five times but only had two catches for 15 yards. He was largely outdone by TE David Njoku, who brought in six catches for 67 yards and a TD.
Jeudy continues to be a limited factor for Cleveland. He has yet to find the endzone this year, but the Browns believe Jeudy will become a bigger part of the offense soon.
Browns' Kevin Stefanski gives strong statement on struggling Jerry Jeudy
In the press conference following Cleveland's 21-17 loss on Sunday to the Vikings, Kevin Stefanski was asked about Jerry Jeudy's slow start. He was adamant that Juedy is a leader in the locker room and the team needs to find more ways to get him involved.
"Jerry continues to be our best wide receiver. We have to find ways to get him involved in the game," said Stafanski. "Having said that, he's a leader on this team, he will do anything in his power to help this football team, and I'm excited about the future for Jerry and this offense. But obviously I know he wants to do more, and we want him to do more."
Look out for Jeudy to be more involved in Week 6's matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Cleveland will need to get him more involved if they want to get through their division rivals.
