The Cleveland Browns have made a large variety of additions in 2025. They traded for quarterback Kenny Pickett and signed Joe Flacco. They also drafted a pair of quarterbacks in Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Two other moves they made in the draft were taking a pair of running backs in Quinshon Judkins and Dylan Sampson, leaving many to further believe there was little chance of Nick Chubb returning. General manager Andrew Berry all but confirmed those suspicions on Friday.
"I wouldn't rule anything out, but I would say it's probably increasingly unlikely [that Chubb returns]," Berry said on 92.3 The Fan in Cleveland. "We have two young guys that we liked... you're never going to rule out someone as near and dear to our hearts as Nick... but I'd say a return is less likely, at least in the short term, with us right now."
So for all intents and purposes, it looks like the Nick Chubb era in Cleveland is over.
