The Pittsburgh Steelers laid a beating on the Cleveland Browns this past weekend in their 23-9 win over their division rivals.

The Browns' loss made it 22 consecutive regular season losses in Pittsburgh, and a former Steelers' quarterback voiced his opinions on the Browns' putrid performance.

Former Steelers' quarterback Ben Roethlisberger called out the Browns for their Week 6 performance in his "Footbahlin with Ben Roethlisberger" Podcast.

Roethlisberger slams Browns performance

The Browns entered Week 6 1-4, and the Steelers handed Cleveland its fifth loss of the season with ease. On Tuesday, Roethlisberger took to his podcast to slam the Browns for their performance.

"They are worse than I thought. They are abysmal. Offense, defense, and I'm not just saying it because it's Cleveland, and I know I like to joke about Cleveland on this show," Roethlisberger said. "They are terrible. They are terrible on offense. Where's the vaunted defense?"

The Browns only managed 248 total yards and three field goals in the game. But, the Browns had rookie quarterback Dillon Gabriel under center and the offense hasn't been electric at all this year.

Coupled with the Steelers defense and strong pass rush, few expected the Browns offense to put up big numbers. But, Roethlisberger expected Cleveland's defense to show up more.

"I thought it was going to be close. I thought the Browns defense would show up more, to make it more challenging on the Steelers," Roethlisberger said. "It never really looked like it was that hard."

The Steelers only put up 23 points, so it's not like they ran the Browns out of the building. But, to Roethlisberger's point, Pittsburgh kicked three field goals in the first half. The offense was moving the ball down the field, but they just weren't finishing drives.

Then, the Steelers offense scored two touchdowns in the second half to pull away from the Browns.

The Steelers and Browns' rivalry goes way back, but the Browns have had a rough time lately, especially in Pittsburgh, and in the regular season.
