Ja'Marr Chase makes Bengals history after earning fifth straight pro bowl image

Ja'Marr Chase continues to redefine consistency at the NFL’s highest level. On Tuesday morning, the league announced that the Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver has been voted to the AFC roster for the 2026 Pro Bowl Games, marking the fifth Pro Bowl selection of his career and his fifth in five professional seasons.

With the honor, Chase joins elite franchise company. He becomes just the second player in Bengals history to earn Pro Bowl recognition in each of his first five seasons, alongside former standout A.J. Green (2011-15). It’s another milestone in what has already become one of the most productive starts to a career by any wide receiver in NFL history.

Chase was also voted a starter at wide receiver for the second consecutive season, a distinction backed by overwhelming fan support. Ahead of Tuesday’s roster reveal, the NFL released voting totals that showed Chase as the top vote-getter among AFC wide receivers, underscoring his status as both a statistical force and a fan favorite.

Production Through Instability

The numbers make a compelling case. Despite catching passes from three different quarterbacks during the 2025 season, Chase ranks second in the NFL in receptions (110) and fourth in receiving yards (1,256) through Week 16. He also leads the league in targets for a second straight year, finishing the week with 166 looks his way.

While Chase has found the end zone just five times this season, a figure that could represent a career-low if he doesn’t score in the final two weeks, his overall impact has been undeniable. He has recorded seven 100-yard receiving games, the most in a single season in Bengals history, and remains the focal point of every defensive game plan he faces.

Historic Pace

Beyond this season alone, Chase’s career trajectory places him in rare historical air. Earlier this month, he became just the fifth player in NFL history to post at least 1,000 receiving yards in each of his first five seasons. Last week, he joined an even smaller club by becoming only the second player ever with at least 6,500 receiving yards and 50 touchdowns through five seasons, alongside Randy Moss.

This week, Chase added another unprecedented mark: he became the first player in NFL history to record 500-plus receptions and 50-plus touchdowns within his first five seasons. Through four-plus years, he now sits at 501 catches for 6,618 yards and 51 touchdowns.

Bengals Representation in 2026

Chase is the Bengals’ lone Pro Bowl starter, but he won’t be the team’s only representative if roster spots open. Wide receiver Tee Higgins was named a second alternate, while cornerback DJ Turner II (third alternate) and returner Charlie Jones (fifth alternate) are also on standby. Alternates will be elevated if selected players are sidelined due to injury or Super Bowl participation.

The 2026 Pro Bowl Games will take place February 3 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco and will air on ESPN. For Chase, it’s not just another accolade, it’s further proof that his start ranks among the best the league has ever seen.
