The Cincinnati Bengals are making the trip up north to face the Buffalo Bills in what's forecasted to be a snow game.

In this matchup, the Bengals will be getting Tee Higgins, Ja'Marr Chase, Chase Brown, and Joe Burrow all back on the field for the first time since the start of the year. But, they will be without one key receiver.

According to NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero, the Bengals have suspended 2024 third-round draft pick and wide receiver Jermaine Burton for Week 14 against the Bills.

Bengals suspend Jermaine Burton for Week 14 matchup

"The Bengals have suspended WR Jermaine Burton for today's game at Buffalo, the team announced," Pelissero reports. "Burton will be listed as inactive for the game."

Burton is now suspended for Week 14 for the massive matchup against the Bills. He didn't travel with the team, so his status for Week 14 was already in doubt. And now, he's been suspended.

Due to being suspended, Burton will lose out on a $59,320.88 game check, according to Pelissero. While Chase was suspended earlier in the year for spitting on Jalen Rams ey, the reason for this suspension is unknown.

Burton was a third-round pick from the 2024 NFL Draft, selected 80th overall to bolster the wide receiver room behind Higgins and Chase.

But the 24-year-old played in 14 games, recording only four catches for 107 yards and no touchdowns on 14 targets in his rookie season.

Marred with off-the-field issues, Burton struggled to get consistent playing time, and this season, he's not once suited up for the Bengals, being a healthy scratch for most weeks.

Now, Burton isn't just inactive for this big Bills matchup; he's been suspended, showing the rift that has been created between the Bengals and Burton.

His status going forward will be up in the air, and more will be known about Burton's future and the reason for this suspension in the coming days. But for now, the Bengals prepare for a massive game in Buffalo to keep their playoff hopes alive.
