All signs continue to point to Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow playing in Week 12.
Burrow returned to practice last week in a limited fashion. This week, Burrow logged a full practice on Wednesday and appears on track to do the same on Thursday.
Adding to that, Burrow was once again taking the snaps from starting center Ted Karras in practice on Thursday, while Joe Flacco was working with backup Lucas Patrick, which is yet another sign Burrow might return on Sunday.
"Joe Burrow is taking the snap from Ted Karras during the pre practice center exchange work. Flacco is with backup Lucas Patrick," FOX19's Charlie Goldsmith reported.
Earlier in the day, Bengals head coach Zac Taylor was asked about Burrow's status for this week, and while he didn't say that Burrow was going to play, he didn't rule it out, either.
"I'm not there yet. One day at practice isn't going to lead to that decision yet," Taylor said of Burrow's chances of suiting up, per The Athletic's Paul Dehner Jr.
Bear in mind, Burrow wasn't expected to be back until mid-December, at the earliest, so all of this is shocking, to say the least.
Burrow had initially hinted that Thanksgiving was his target return date, which is Week 13, but it continues to look like he might be back even earlier than that.
There is no doubt Burrow understands the urgency of the situation.
Cincinnati has a less-than one-percent chance of making the playoffs with its 3-7 record, so it's crucial the team's star quarterback returns as quickly as possible.
Based on the looks of it, that might happen, but we'll know more on Friday, when the Bengals drop their final injury report of the week.
