Will D'Andre Swift be back in Week 10? Latest injury update on Bears' running back image

The Chicago Bears pulled off one of the more improbable comebacks in NFL history in Week 9 against the Cincinnati Bengals. They got the Week 9 win without D'Andre Swift, the team's starting running back.

While Kyle Monangai and Brittain Brown had strong performances against a poor Bengals defense, Swift coming back would be a huge boost for the Bears' offense.

But, as the Week 10 matchup against the New York Giants approaches, Swift's status remains up in the air. The latest injury update on Swift from the Bears' Wednesday practice also hints at what the offense could look like in Week 10.

The Bears revealed their Week 10 injury report from Wednesday's practice, and in it, D'Andre Swift was logged with limited participation in practice.

This is an encouraging sign for Swift, as he began the last two weeks as "did not participate." But this week, Swift is practicing on a Wednesday despite his groin issue, a positive sign for the starting running back.

It's important to note as well that Monangai was also limited, as the rookie seventh-rounder deals with an ankle injury.

Last week, Ben Johnson described Swift's groin issue as "chronic," causing some long-term concern for the running back. However, based on this practice report, Swift is trending in the right direction.

The Bears could get Swift back for their Week 10 matchup against the Giants, but with two more practices to go, it's still too early to tell for sure. But the fact that Swift is practicing on a Wednesday is some encouraging news.

Swift and Monangai are both limited participants in Wednesday's practice, as is Roschon Johnson. If all three can continue to log participation in practice, the Bears could have their backfield healthy for Week 10.

Even though it's been only one practice so far this week, Swift is trending in the right direction to play against the Giants after missing just one game.
