The Bears announced Tuesday that linebacker T.J. Edwards and offensive tackle Ozzy Trapilo have been placed on injured reserve.

The decision effectively brings both of their seasons to an end following injuries sustained in Chicago’s wild-card victory over the Packers on Saturday.

In corresponding roster moves, the Bears activated offensive tackle Braxton Jones from injured reserve and promoted linebacker Jalen Reeves-Maybin from the practice squad to the active roster. Linebacker Nephi Sewell, a four-year NFL veteran and the older brother of Bears linebacker Noah Sewell, will take Reeves-Maybin’s place on the practice squad.

Jones served as the team’s primary starting left tackle from 2022 through 2024. He opened the 2025 season as the starter for the first three games but was eventually benched in favor of Theo Benedet. Jones later suffered a knee injury and has remained on injured reserve since October.

Edwards suffered a fractured fibula in the Packers game, an injury that will sideline him for the remainder of the postseason. The timing is especially unfortunate for the 29-year-old, who missed seven regular-season games due to multiple injuries.

Trapilo had been emerging as Chicago’s starting left tackle, taking over the role in Week 12 after Benedet was injured and holding onto it the rest of the way. He wraps up his rookie season with seven starts, including the postseason start against Green Bay.

The Bears will host the Los Angeles Rams in the divisional round on Sunday at 6:30 ET.
