The Chicago Bears are coming off an incredible win over the Philadelphia Eagles on Black Friday. The ground game was incredible, as both D'Andre Swift and Kyle Monangai ran for over 100 yards and a touchdown.
But after the game, Rome Odunze was a bit more banged up than usual. He's been ruled out for Week 14's matchup against the Green Bay Packers, and there was some concern about his long-term availability.
According to NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero, Odunze has been playing through a stress fracture in his foot and is now going to be "week-to-week" as the second-year wide receiver recovers from this foot injury.
Bears get 'week-to-week' update on Rome Odunze amid injury
"Bears WR Rome Odunze, who was ruled out for Sunday's game against Green Bay, has been playing with a stress fracture in his foot, per sources," Pelissero reports. "At this point, Odunze just needs rest and is week-to-week. The belief is it's nothing long-term, and he'll be back soon."
This report from Pelissero on Odunze is illuminating. Not only is this foot injury a stress fracture, but one he's been dealing with for some time now.
Also, while Odunze will be "week-to-week," he isn't expected to miss significant time this season. He's going to miss Week 14 and could wind up missing Week 15 or longer, but Odunze's issue isn't going to last a while, according to Pelissero.

Losing Odunze is a tough blow, especially right before a massive matchup against the 8-3-1 Packers, but the 9-3 Bears have some options other than Odunze in the wide receiver room.
Luther Burden, DJ Moore, and Olamide Zaccheaus will take over the top three in the Bears' wide receiver room. Coleston Loveland and Cole Kmet will also get their fair share of work, as will the dynamic running back duo.
Chicago will be without Odunze, who has 44 receptions for 661 yards and six touchdowns this season, for at least Week 14, and potentially longer. It's not a long-term issue, but the 2024 first-rounder is set to miss some time during his second season.
