The Chicago Bears are currently 11-4, have clinched a playoff spot, and are more likely than not to clinch the NFC North.

Last year at this time, their record was flipped at 4-11, they were well eliminated from the playoffs, and the Bears would go on to finish last in the division. What a difference one year can make.

When you look at this 2025-26 Bears team, you can point to a slew of changes from last season that have resulted in this success, but one stands alone. It mainly comes down to the drastic change in the coaching staff.

Hiring Ben Johnson as the team's new head coach has to be one of the best decisions the franchise has made, but the domino effect of what happened after is what makes this staff different.

Ben Johnson went out and brought in an elite group of assistants. He did such a good job that the current reporting is that many of them may need to be replaced this offseason.

Bears organization is preparing to be "raided"

Ben Johnson came in loudly and changed the entire culture in the Bears' facility this offseason. What he did in assembling his coaching staff was silent but just as important.

He brought in fantastic coaches such as Dennis Allen, Declan Doyle, Eric Bieniemy, Al Harris, and others. The success they've found as a team this season has the rest of the league looking at them, wanting a piece.

A report from Jonathan Jones says that the Bears are preparing for opposing teams to attempt to raid their coaching staff this offseason

It's unlikely the Bears would lose all of those coaches, but I'm sure many of them are about to be offered high-paying positions this summer. You can look at the work they've all done and understand.

Bieniemy has this Bears' RB room looking like one of the best 1-2 punches in the league, and Dan Roushar has gotten a talented collection of new acquisitions to create one of the best offensive line units in football.

Last but certainly not least, DB coach and passing game coordinator Al Harris has led his group to lead the NFL in INTs and will likely be getting defensive coordinator offers this summer.

Hopefully for Bears fans, this group believes in what they've done here and chooses to stay despite better opportunities elsewhere.
