Chicago Bears defensive back Kevin Byard III was selected to the Pro Bowl on Tuesday as he is having one of the best seasons in his career.

Byard has the most interceptions in the league with six, and he also has 83 tackles on the season, which will make his third appearance in the Pro Bowl.

When the Bears signed Byard in 2023, it was mainly due to the impact he could make on the field, as the former Titan and Eagle had made a name for himself in his earlier years in the league for being one of the best safeties in the league. Still, his impact off the field has been similar, if not greater.

Along with the Pro Bowl announcement, Byard was awarded the Jeff Dickson Good Guy Award in just his second season with the team, which is an award from the Chicago chapter of the "Pro Football Writers Association" to honor long-term Bears beat writer, Jeff Dickson, who passed away after battling with colon cancer in 2021.

The honor comes from being the most helpful in allowing the media to do their jobs by mainly fulfilling his media responsibilities.

Byard thanked everyone who voted for him for the honor, stating, "That's definitely an awesome award."

"Every single day, I just try to be as authentic as I possibly can... I try to be a good human being and just try to be the same person every day," Byard added.

It was later determined that Byard was the unanimous winner of this award, and it's always a pleasing sight to see a great player on the field, be an even better person off of it.
