D'Andre Swift injury update: What Bears roster moves mean for RB's Week 16 status image

One of the Chicago Bears' key offensive playmakers, running back D'Andre Swift, is questionable to play in the Week 16 game against the Green Bay Packers.

Swift was a new addition to the injury report on Wednesday thanks to a groin issue. However, he did log limited practices on Wednesday and Thursday before getting a questionable tag for Saturday night.

With hours to go before kickoff on Saturday night, the Bears announced some roster moves.

Here's what they mean for Swift's availability.

The Bears made a pair of roster moves on Saturday, but they did not elevate a running back for the contest against the Packers.

If the Bears didn't think Swift would play, they would have elevated a running back from the practice squad with only two others on their 53-man roster.

This is just the latest piece of evidence that Swift is going to suit up.

Earlier in the day, ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported that Swift is expected to go.

"Bears RB D'Andre Swift (questionable, groin) is expected to play today vs. Green Bay, per source," the NFL insider wrote.

Final confirmation for Swift's status will come around 6:50 p.m. ET, when the Bears and Packers drop their respective inactives lists.

Swift enters Week 16 just 65 rushing yards shy of 1,000, and just 114 rushing yards shy of tying his career-high mark.

Barring injury, he should reach both numbers over the final three weeks, but he could hit those totals as early as Saturday night.
