The Chicago Bears are one of the more up-and-coming teams in the NFL, really improving under second-year quarterback Caleb Williams and first-year head coach Ben Johnson.

The expectation was for the Bears to be an improved team, mainly due to Johnson and Williams figuring things out, but it's been a total team effort for Chicago this year.

As the Bears continue to improve over the next few years, there are going to be some interesting trades that could come up for the organization.

According to the latest report from Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Bears were attempting to speed up some of that rebuild process and looking to win a Super Bowl as early as this season. Schefter reported that the Bears reached out to the Cleveland Browns for star edge rusher Myles Garrett.

“When they were calling the Cleveland Browns, they did ask about Myles Garrett but Myles Garrett wasn’t available,” Schefter said. “They tried to be a little bit more aggressive, but it takes two teams to get a deal done, and in certain cases, other teams weren’t willing to part with a player like Myles Garrett.”

Could the Bears eventually land Myles Garrett?

In some sense, it's a bit questionable why the Browns haven’t moved on from Garrett just yet, but it's also fair to recognize that he's arguably the best player in the world, and for a struggling Browns team, they can use as much talent as possible.

It wouldn't be too surprising to see the Browns eventually cut ties with him in a deal, so the Bears can keep that phone number around and hope to figure something else out in the future.
