Bears' Luther Burden gets troubling injury news after loss to 49ers image

What a game it was on Sunday Night Football between the Chicago Bears and San Francisco 49ers

The Bears walked off the field Sunday night after a 42-38 loss to the 49ers, but that doesn’t seem to be the biggest deal now. It was Luther Burden III being carted to the locker room after suffering an injury on the final play.

It remains uncertain what happened to Burden, but Underdog NFL had the latest.

“Luther Burden III carted to locker room following Sunday's game,” Underdog posted on X.

Burden, who has been one of the best pieces of Chicago’s offense when healthy, went down as the Bears tried to pull off a last-second miracle. Whatever the designation ends up being, seeing the rookie wide receiver leave on a cart isn’t a good sign given what the Bears are trying to accomplish.

Before the injury, Burden was once again a significant part of the game plan.

He finished with eight catches for 138 yards and a touchdown, giving Caleb Williams a reliable option in high-leverage moments. His 35-yard score helped keep Chicago within striking distance all night in what was one of the better games of the season.

This was undoubtedly the best game of Burden’s young career.

Chicago will hope that whatever comes from this isn’t a big deal. With Chicago looking to play its best football with the playoffs almost here, a long-term injury needs to be avoided.

Hopefully, Burden will be OK.
