At 5-3, the Chicago Bears have a shot at making their first playoff appearance since 2020. But the club, led by new head coach Ben Johnson, could use some good injury luck.

The Bears opted to stand relatively pat this week's trade deadline, acquiring former Cleveland Browns edge Joe Tryon-Shoyinka and a seventh-round draft pick in exchange for their 2026 sixth-rounder.
But Chicago might need more defensive help if it hopes to make any kind of dent in January. Per Brad Biggs of The Chicago Tribune, some help could very well be on the way — possibly.
Gordon, Johnson on the way?
"Nickel cornerback Kyler Gordon, who has had a trio of soft-tissue injuries since August, and cornerback Jaylon Johnson, who had surgery to repair a groin injury, can provide a boost to a pieced-together secondary if they can get back on the field for meaningful games in December," Biggs writes. "It’s difficult for Allen with the team down its top two cornerbacks but it’s the reality he has been navigating."

The 5-foot-11 Gordon, 25, has been on injured reserve since Oct. 19. He's been healthy for just two games this season, having notched six total tackles (four solo). The 6-foot Johnson, 26, has been available for just one game, a lopsided 52-21 blowout loss to Johnson's old team, the Detroit Lions, on Sept. 14. He logged two solo tackles.
