Bears' Coleston Loveland caps off rookie season with injury image

The Chicago Bears were without rookie tight end Coleston Loveland to finish off their 20-17 overtime loss to the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Divisional Round.

According to Bears head coach Ben Johnson, Loveland suffered a concussion late in the game. This resulted in the tight end not being able to finish out the competition.

Chicago failed to win multiple games in the postseason, an achievement the franchise hasn't been able to get since 2006, when they reached the Super Bowl.

Coleston Loveland's rookie season results

Despite starting his first season slowly, Coleston Loveland gradually got more comfortable at the professional level and finished with an impressive campaign.

While playing in all 16 games, the Bears' No. 10 overall pick in the NFL Draft completed the season with 58 receptions for 713 receiving yards and six touchdowns.

His most notable outings came at the start of November, where he finished with seven receptions, 118 receiving yards, and two touchdowns in the Bears' win over the Cincinnati Bengals on Nov. 2.

To close out the regular season, Loveland caught six passes for 94 yards and a touchdown in Chicago's 42-38 loss to the San Francisco 49ers in Week 17, then followed it with a 10-catch, 91-yard, one-touchdown performance in a 19-16 loss to the Detroit Lions in Week 18.

Although the season didn't start as planned, Coleston Loveland came around when the Bears needed him most.

It's safe to say that Chicago has a good one for seasons to come.
