With the NFL trade deadline just under a month away, it's time for teams to start thinking about any potential deals they want to make.
The Chicago Bears are fresh off a bye and have returned to practice this week. They take on the Washington Commanders on Monday Night Football.
Chicago has struggled to get the run game going this season, but head coach Ben Johnson isn't giving up on the rushing attack.
Ben Johnson shares thoughts on run game
Ben Johnson recently released a statement about the Bears' rushing attack, and if a running back is on their radar as the trade deadline approaches:
"Our guys are going to be fine," Johnson said. "It's not always the runners. It's everybody. It's the quarterback carrying out his fake, it's the receivers blocking down the field, it's the tight ends doing their job and the same thing with the offensive line."
Maybe Chicago's run game will turn around, but at the moment, running back D'Andre Swift is averaging under 3.5 yards per carry. Swift has just 187 rushing yards on the season and two touchdowns.
If the Bears are unable to establish their rushing attack, it will put added pressure on Caleb Williams and the receiver group to carry the offense throughout the season.
