Led by ascendant second-year quarterback Caleb Williams, Chicago is riding high on a three-game win streak. The Bears capped off that run on Monday, after a bye week, besting the Washington Commanders on the road, 25-24, with a last-second Jake Moody field goal kick. Chicago is now 3-2 on the year.
Hall of Fame former quarterback-turned-ESPN commentator Troy Aikman appeared to cop an attitude against Williams and the Bears during his in-game analysis, to the point where fans on social media took notice.

First-year Chicago head coach Ben Johnson indirectly acknowledged Aikman's shenanigans while chatting with ESPN Chicago 1000 AM's Jeff Joniak.
"It sounded like from that game the other night, a few people weren't particular pleased with how we're winning right now," Johnson told Joniak. "I woke up this morning and my kids were watching the second half before school so I heard some of the commentary. But, listen, in this league any way you can find a way to win."

Williams passed for 252 yards and a touchdown, connecting on 17-of-29 attempts. His Commanders counterpart, Pro Bowler Jayden Daniels, passed for 211 yards and three touchdowns, against one pick.
"Maybe I just had it on mute," Johnson said of the ESPN broadcast. "Listen, you want respect in this league, you got to go earn it. So, that's where we are at right now. We need to go earn that respect from not only the rest of the teams in the NFL but everybody, so that's where we are."
