Xavier Legette has been the definition of a boom-or-bust player for the Carolina Panthers during his young career.
After a disappointing rookie campaign, Legette has posted just two games with 83 or more receiving yards and a touchdown this season while also tallying seven or more contests with 31 or fewer yards, including one game in which he had -2 yards.
So far on Monday night in the Week 12 game against the San Francisco 49ers, Legette is looking like a bust. Here's a closer look at what's going on.
Is Xavier Legette playing tonight?
UPDATE: We're through the first half and Legette has just one target. It hasn't helped that the Panthers ran just 19 plays over the first two quarters.
UPDATE: Legette is still looking for his first target after the Panthers' second drive, which ended after four plays following a pick from Young on what was a terrible decision.
Yes, Legette is active and on the field for Carolina, but he hasn't been targeted in the passing game yet by quarterback Bryce Young. Carolina's first drive went three-and-out so there wasn't much of a chance to get him going.
We'd like to say that Legette will get going soon, but there's absolutely zero guarantee that will be the case.
