After the conclusion of the Week 12 game between the San Francisco 49ers and Carolina Panthers, wide receiver Jauan Jennings struck safety Tre'von Moehrig.
The brief scuffle between the two players occurred while the teams were meeting for post-game handshakes. Jennings walked up to the Panthers safety and unloaded an open-handed strike on Moehrig before the two players were separated.
It was quickly revealed why Jennings did what he did, as Moehrig was spotted on video hitting Jennings below the belt before the conclusion of the game.
Once he was back in the locker room, Moehrig explained why he did what he did and seemed to suggest that Jennings did something dirty to him during the game.
"It ain't really nothing much to it, it was just that," Moehrig said, per ESPN's David Newton. "Like I said, I'll take that one. He wanted to do a little dirty stuff, so it is what it is, man."
"It wasn't even frustration. It was isolated, that's that," Moehrig added.
Man... It looks like #Panthers DB Tre'Von Moehrig hit #49ers WR Jauan Jennings below the belt before the altercation...

Panthers head coach Dave Canales made it clear he plans on talking to Moehrig about the incident.
"I'll talk to him tonight," Canales said. "I'll have a chance to look at the film and see what happened."
We've already seen two players get suspended for hitting another player with a punch this season, so it's possible Jennings will suffer the same fate.
Detroit Lions safety Brian Branch and Washington Commanders defensive lineman Daron Payne were both suspended for one game for their respective actions, with Branch's punch coming after a game and Payne's coming during one.
At the very least, Jennings will face a fine, and Moehrig will likely be docked some money, also.
