The Carolina Panthers appear to be preparing for the possibility that wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan won't play in the Week 10 game against the New Orleans Saints.
McMillan popped up on the injury report on Friday with a hamstring injury he suffered in practice, and we know late-week additions to the injury report are typically bad news for a player's chances of suiting up.
While there is still hope for McMillan, who was not downgraded from questionable on Saturday, the Panthers are elevating wide receiver Dan Chisena from the practice squad, which could indicate Carolina believes there's at least a chance McMillan is not going to play.
At this point, with how late in the week he suffered his injury, it would be surprising to see McMillan play on Sunday. Even if he's close to 100%, the Panthers might opt to play it safe with their top wideout and 2025 first-round pick.
If McMillan can't go, fellow rookie wide receiver Jimmy Horn Jr. Will likely get the biggest boost in snaps.
However, wide receivers Xavier Legette and Jalen Coker should be the top-two options for quarterback Bryce Young in that scenario.
For fantasy football purposes, it's hard to trust either player in your lineup, as Coker has just 45 yards in three games this season and Legette is the definition of boom-or-bust, although he usually busts far more than he booms.
