Panthers' Trevor Etienne draft pick lands RB with brother NFL pedigree but also controversy image

The Carolina Panthers have an extremely crowded running back room.

They just added a talented college running back with a strong NFL pedigree who doesn't come without controversy.

The Panthers chose Trevor Etienne in the fourth round of the 2025 NFL Draft on Saturday.

Etienne is the younger brother of Jacksonville RB Travis.

He began his college career at Florida and finished it at Georgia.

In March 2024, Etienne was arrested on DUI and reckless driving charges. He later pleaded no contest to reckless driving and other charges, and the DUI charge was dismissed as part of the plea deal.

Etienne was suspended for a game due to the off-field troubles.

On the field, Etienne is a talented RB but not quite up to the level of his older brother.

In Carolina, he joins an RB depth chart that already included Chuba Hubbard, Jonathon Brooks, Rico Dowdle and Raheem Blackshear.

If Etienne can break through, he'll have a chance to try and keep up with his older bro in the pros.
