The Carolina Panthers have an intriguingly deep wide receiver group.
The problem, in one sense, is that they're all quite young.
That is, except for Hunter Renfrow.
He's the veteran presence in the room. Renfrow starred in college at Clemson and has been a reliable slot receiver in the NFL for a while.
But because of the depth, Renfrow doesn't always get to do much.
Is Hunter Renfrow playing tonight?
No, Hunter Renfrow isn't playing on Monday Night Football for the Panthers against the 49ers.
He was officially inactive for the game.
His inactivity isn't due to injury. It was a coach's decision.
This is the sixth game in a row that Renfrow has been a healthy scratch.
The Panthers did play Renfrow six games at the start of the year. In that time, he had 15 catches for 89 yards and two touchdowns.
Carolina has evidently decided now that Renfrow is no longer useful as the Panthers chase a playoff spot.
