The Buffalo Bills won't have one of quarterback Josh Allen's favorite targets on the field for their Week 15 game against the New England Patriots.
That favorite target is wide receiver Gabe Davis, who was on the team's inactives list ahead of kickoff against the Patriots.
Here's what we know about the reason behind Davis' inactive status.
Why Gabe Davis is inactive for Bills
Davis is not dealing with an injury, so he is indeed a healthy scratch.
There's a few reasons why that's the case.
For starters, Davis just hasn't been very productive, with seven catches for 88 yards in four games.
The Bills are also welcoming back Joshua Palmer after he missed the previous two contests because of injury. The addition of Brandin Cooks via waivers a few weeks back is another reason why Davis is being pushed to inactive status.
Another issue for Davis is he doesn't offer special teams value, which is why Tyrell Shavers is also getting the nod over him.
