Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen has only pulled out the Superman cape on the odd occasion when his team really needs him to over the past couple of seasons.

With James Cook and the run game being a key piece of the offensive plan, so too getting Khalil Shakir, Dalton Kincaid, and Co. Involved in the passing game, Buffalo has the ability to beat you a number of ways.

But that might have changed.

With Gabe Davis and Tyrell Shavers now out for the year with ACL injuries, Allen is likely going to have to put on the Superman cape from the first snap against the Denver Broncos.

With Shakir, Kincaid, Keon Coleman, Brandin Cooks, and Dawson Knox as Allen's "top" weapons, No. 17 might have to do a lot of the lifting at Mile High.

Bills offense depleted ahead of Denver trip

Coming up against one of the best defenses in football, having your full array of weapons is a good place to start in combating the pass rushers Denver has.

But now, without Davis and Shavers, Allen has a depleted receiver room, so it could be a healthy dose of Cook and the run game at Mile High.

Still, the Bills have to keep the Broncos defense honest in the passing game, but will they be able to without some of their weapons?

If Buffalo is to advance to the AFC Championship game, Allen is going to have to.

And to do it, he might have to put on the cape from the outset.
