The Buffalo Bills need a new wide receiver.

Gabe Davis has a torn ACL and is out for the season. The easiest option available is to elevate Mecole Hardman from the practice squad to be the WR5 against the Denver Broncos on Saturday.

But another option has been floated by fans, and it involves Elijah Moore.

Moore is currently on the Denver Broncos' practice squad after beginning the season with the Bills. Usually, a player off a practice squad can be signed to another team's active roster.

Just not in this case.

Why can't Bills sign Elijah Moore from Broncos?

There's one rule that prohibits this: A team can't sign a player from that week's opponent's practice squad.

So if the Bills had wanted to sign Moore last week, they could have. But not this week.

So that removes one option from the equation.

If the Bills don't sign anyone on Tuesday, it points to just promoting Hardman for the game.

It made sense for the Bills to cut Moore earlier this season when they did. But now, it'd probably be nice to still have him around.
