Buffalo Bills receiver Joshua Palmer has been a slow burn to begin the 2025 season, and against the Atlanta Falcons on Monday night football, the former Los Angeles Charger got off to a hot start.

A 45-yard reception on the Bills' first offensive play of the game got things rolling for Palmer, and then in the second quarter, he caught his second pass for 15 yards.

But that is where things went south.

As Palmer was tackled, his leg got caught underneath him and twisted, as the receiver was seen lying on the ground clutching at his leg.

Palmer would go into the blue medical tent for further evaluation, but it didn't look great on the broadcast replays. There were some on social media who thought it was a hip-drop tackle that Palmer got injured on, and now the Bills receiver might not be able to return to the game.

Palmer's blistering start halted by injury

Joshua's two catches for 60 yards midway through the second quarter were just one yard shy of his season high of 61, which came back in Week 1, and it is easily his best since then.

Having not been a focal point of the offense for the opening six weeks, it appeared that Palmer was just starting to get things rolling, and the football gods decided to intervene in the worst way.

Luckily, the Bills have a handful of weapons in Dawson Knox, Khalil Shakir, and Keon Coleman to lean on in the passing game if Palmer, in fact, is ruled out, which, at the time of writing, there is no update.

Either way, football is a brutal sport, and just as Palmer looked like he was about to hit his stride, an injury has struck him down.
