The Buffalo Bills are looking to get to 7-2 on the season, as they will travel to Miami to take on the 2-7 Dolphins. Josh Allen has owned Miami throughout his career, donning a 14-2 record against Miami.
While the Bills are consistently dominant against the Dolphins, they have multiple reliable defenders on the shelf for Sunday, with the possibility of more being out.
"Bills coach Sean McDermott said on WG R550 that DE A.J. Epenesa (concussion) & LB Shaq Thompson (hamstring) will not play Sunday vs. Dolphins," Matt Parrino reports. "CB Christian Benford (groin), CB Taron Johnson (groin) WR Josh Palmer (ankle) & DT DaQuan Jones (calf) are all questionable."
Thompson has been one of Buffalo's most reliable players on Buffalo's defense this season. With Matt Milano injured, Thompson has taken on a bigger role and has shown up every week, registering 19 tackles, three tackles for loss, and a forced fumble.
Epenesa has had one of the best starts to a season of his career, registering 2.5 sacks, two tackles for loss, and a fumble recovery as part of the Bills' defensive line rotation.
Palmer was brought in to be the team's separator on the outside, but has yet to show the capability to do so. Plus, he has been out since the team's Monday night loss to the Atlanta Falcons. If the Bills are without Benford and/or Johnson, rookie Max Hairston will be put in a big spot as the team's top cornerback.
