New Buffalo Bills wide receiver lands on injured reserve after just one game image

The hits just keep on coming for the Buffalo Bills at wide receiver.

After suffering a calf injury in his very first game with the Bills, wide receiver Mecole Hardman has been placed on injured reserve, the team announced on Thursday before the game against the Houston Texans.

With that move, Hardman will have to miss at least the next four games. The Week 12 contest against the Texans will count as one of them.

Hardman was signed to the Bills' practice squad on Nov. 10 and was promoted to the active roster on Nov. 15. He was only targeted once in his debut in Week 11 but did not record a catch.

While the chances of Hardman contributing anything significant were always slim, this is just the latest blow to the Bills' wide receivers room that is already shaky.

Buffalo hasn't gotten what it expected out of Joshua Palmer this season and Keon Coleman is reportedly going to be benched for a second straight game after the second-year wideout was late to a meeting last week.

Making matters worse, the Bills are missing Dalton Kincaid for a second consecutive week as he continues to deal with a hamstring injury.

Buffalo reportedly had interest in adding a wide receiver at the trade deadline but did not end up making any moves.

Instead, Buffalo brought in Hardman, and they are also hoping for veteran Gabe Davis to step up.

The Bills did get a fantastic contribution from Tyrell Shavers in Week 11, but it remains to be seen if the unproven wideout can keep that up.

Until Kincaid gets back, there will be a ton of pressure on Khalil Shakir, who is the team's undisputed No. 1 wideout.
