Is Matt Prater playing today? Latest injury update on Bills kicker for wild-card game image

The Buffalo Bills entered the week with a question mark at kicker thanks to an injury to Matt Prater.

Prater suffered a right quadriceps injury in Week 18, which was the same kind of injury that Prater in sustained in Week 15 that forced him to miss two games.

However, Prater showed the injury wasn't as serious as the last one after he turned in one full practice on Thursday before sitting out on Friday and drawing the questionable tag.

Here's what we know about Prater's status for the wild-card game against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday afternoon.

Is Matt Prater playing today?

Yes, Prater is expected to play on Sunday.

While Prater remains questionable, the Bills did not elevate fellow kicker Matthew Wright from the practice squad for the contest, which means Buffalo expects Prater to play.

We'll get final confirmation on Prater's status an hour and a half before the 1 p.m. ET kickoff, but for now it looks like the Bills will have their kicker ready to go.

Prater was signed by Buffalo before the start of the regular season, when the Bills lost Tyler Bass to a hip/groin injury that ultimately led to him missing the entire campaign.

Prater has been sensational in Bass' place, making 90% of his field goals (18-of-20) and 93.9% of his extra points.

For his career, Prater has made 87.5% of his postseason field goals (14-of-16) and all of his extra points (15-of-15).
