The Buffalo Bills entered this week with a major question mark at kicker thanks to the injury to Matt Prater.

Prater suffered a quadriceps injury in Week 18, which was especially concerning because he had just missed two games with the same injury.

Concerns were quelled a bit early in the week, when head coach Sean McDermott said Prater was just day to day. And, more optimism for Prater came on Thursday, when he returned to practice and participated in full after sitting out Wednesday.

On Friday, McDermott revealed that Prater would not practice, but he added an important caveat: Prater not practicing on Friday "is not unusual for a kicker," McDermott said, per Alex Brasky of On SI.

After hearing that from McDermott, we went back to the Week 18 injury report to see if Prater practiced on the Friday before his return to the field against the New York Jets.

Prater did in fact practice, but we have to wonder if that was simply because of the team wanting him to get extra work in order to shake off the rust after missing two games.

Whatever the case may be, given McDermott's comments and the fact that Prater did practice full on Thursday, we would say he has has a good chance to play.

We'll get an official update for Prater on Friday afternoon, when the Bills drop their final injury report of the week. Prater is likely to be either questionable or removed from the injury report entirely.

If Prater can't go, veteran Matthew Wright, who was signed to Buffalo's practice squad this week, will take the reins.
