Is Khalil Shakir playing vs. Patriots? Bills WR off to poor start image

It would make sense to get your best playmakers the ball early in a game that could decide the division, but it appears the Buffalo Bills didn't think that was the case against the New England Patriots.

With Mike Vrabel's team off to a hot start, scoring a touchdown on the opening drive, the Bills then got the ball, and it made sense to get the ball to Khalil Shakir, one of Josh Allen's most trusted weapons.

But they didn't, going three-and-out.

Then, the Bills stopped the Patriots on offense and got the ball back.

Shakir time? Nope, the star receiver wasn't even targeted in what is an odd scenario.

Two drives, zero targets for Buffalo's top weapon.

Bills down big early vs. Patriots

In a game that has huge playoff and division implications, the Bills have their feet stuck in the turf at Gillette Stadium.

The Patriots, with Drake Maye running riot on the ground, are up 14-0 early with Maye going 5 of 6 for 62 yards through the air, and 32 rushing yards and two touchdowns in a blistering start to the game.

Buffalo hasn't offered anything through the first quarter, and is already down two scores to a Patriots team that looks like it will have a hard time stopping.

So maybe getting Shakir and his other weapons involved is the way forward for Allen, because right now, nothing is working.
