The Buffalo Bills are going to be down one of their veteran wide receivers for the upcoming playoff game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, which presents a big opportunity for Keon Coleman.
The Bills announced on Saturday that veteran wide receiver Joshua Palmer has been downgraded from questionable to out for the wild-card weekend contest on Sunday.
NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe adds that Coleman, who has been a healthy scratch on multiple occasions this season, will suit up for Buffalo and is expected to have a role in the offense.
"I’m told WR Keon Coleman is expected to be active tomorrow and could play a role for offense that needs playmakers to step up," Wolfe reported.
Coleman has had a disastrous season for the Bills, which is particularly bad because Buffalo has desperately needed their pass-catchers to step up.
The Bills hoped Coleman would step into the No. 1 wide receiver role in 2025, but he has instead been an afterthought after entering the season with a ton of hype. Making matters worse, two of the weeks he was benched were for disciplinary reasons.
All of that has led to legitimate questions about his future with the team, but Coleman can erase those questions with a strong showing in the playoffs that helps propel the Bills to a deep postseason run.
Coleman will get his first opportunity on Sunday against the Jaguars.
