Every Super Bowl champion is created differently.
But usually, they've got a good offense and a good defense. It's hard to be a one-dimensional football team and make it all the way through the playoff gauntlet.
The X account @PFF_Nicky spelled this out quite nicely: "In the past 9 years, every team that has won the Super Bowl has had at least a top-11 offense and a top-13 defense."
OK, that gives us criteria.
So which NFL teams fit that this season?
There are just five entering Week 17:
- Los Angeles Rams
- New England Patriots
- Jacksonville Jaguars
- Chicago Bears
- Buffalo Bills

Should the rest of the league just close up shop? Not necessarily, but it also means that the rest of the playoff contenders have, on paper, more work to do on a particular side of the ball.
It is funny to see the Jags on a list like this. No one really anticipated them having a season even closely resembling this one, but here they are.
Teams could still move into or out of the stat categories in the final two weeks of the season, changing the list slightly, as well.
But for now, those are five teams that definitely can aim for the Lombardi Trophy.
