Josh Allen turnovers today: How Bills QB's untimely fumble, interception doomed Buffalo in loss to Dolphins image

Quarterback Josh Allen is the star for the Buffalo Bills. When he plays well, the team tends to win. When Allen struggles, his teammates are charged with picking up the slack, which is usually a big ask.

For all of Allen's positives, including a rocket arm and his ability to create on the ground, one of his biggest negatives is ball security. The quarterback is known for trying to fit the ball into windows that are too tight, as well as coughing the ball up when he is running.

The Bills entered a Week 10 matchup with the Dolphins heavily favored, sitting at 6-2, in second place in the AFC East. Buffalo may have been looking past the Miami Dolphins to a tougher matchup on paper next week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Allen had two costly turnovers, which stopped Buffalo's momentum in its tracks and led to a huge 30-13 loss.

Here is more on Allen's game in the upset loss to the Dolphins in Week 10.

Josh Allen turnovers

Allen had seemed like he was taking better care of the ball in 2025. He went three weeks without an interception to begin the season and only had one fumble. He threw his first interception in Week 4, and came into the Week 10 matchup against Miami with four interceptions and four fumbles on the year.

On third-and-goal from the six-yard line, Allen threw an interception against Miami. He was looking for backup tight end Dawson Knox, but it was picked by a Dolphins defensive back.

After the interception, Buffalo's defense forced a punt. The Bills scored a touchdown on their next drive and then got Tua Tagovailoa to throw an interception on the next drive. Buffalo was down only 16-6 and had some hope. On third and one, Allen took a sneak up the middle 15 yards, but then fumbled at the end of it, stopping Buffalo's momentum and sealing the loss.

There are eight weeks remaining in the regular season and while there is some discrepancy in the rankings, the AFC East is not clinched by any means. New England remained hot with a big win over the Buccaneers who Buffalo will see next week. The Dolphins played some inspired football and looked like the team we thought they were going to be at the start of the season. The Jets traded away their two best defenders at the trade deadline, but used two special team touchdowns to beat the Cleveland Browns

The Bills were the lone AFC East team to lose in Week 11.
