The Buffalo Bills had quite the injury scare with quarterback Josh Allen during the Week 16 game against the Cleveland Browns.
Allen suffered a foot injury in the first half after getting sacked. He limped off the field after the play and was immediately checked out by trainers.
He then went into the locker room before the first half ended without his right shoe, but the Bills superstar was able to return to the game and finish it out.
On Monday, head coach Sean McDermott provided an update on Allen's status and revealed that the signal-caller is day to day with some soreness but is expected to play.
"Bills coach Sean McDermott said that quarterback Josh Allen is day to day with his right foot injury. McDermott said that he is just sore and that the expectation is that Allen will be available vs. The Eagles," ESPN's Alaina Getzenberg reported.
McDermott went on to add that Allen hasn't had any setbacks since suffering the injury and does not need further tests.
After the game, Allen called the foot issue a tweak and said that the pain had gone away, so he is not worried about it.
"Yeah, just tweaked my foot a little bit," Allen said. "Just flamed up on me a little bit. Pain subsided, so we're good."
The day to day timeline is certainly good news, and we know it'll take an act of God for Allen to not play, so that's not the concern here.
The only concerning things are that Allen might not be at 100% for a crucial Week 17 game against the Philadelphia Eagles. The risk of aggravating the injury is another worry.
