One of the most famous New England Patriots fans on the planet is making a bold proclamation about his team after it beat the Buffalo Bills on Sunday night.

That Patriots fan is none other than Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy, who is not only ready to say New England quarterback Drake Maye is a "superstar," but he's also ready to consider that Maye might be the best quarterback in the division.

Yes, even over Josh Allen.

Adding to that, Portnoy thinks a changing of the guard in the AFC East might be happening right before our very eyes after New England beat Buffalo, and he believes the Patriots' dynasty days might be on the come up once again.

"They haven't won anything. Yeah, they won the [AFC] East, but they won nothing. And we waited and we rebuilt," he said. "And what we saw tonight, Drake Maye outplayed Josh Allen. The Bills, you've had it for a decade, you got nothing."

"We're a real team. The Bills, you didn't capitalize," Portnoy added. "I still have six rings. You still have zero. You had your chance. You blew it. Now the best quarterback in the division may be back in New England."

"I'm telling you, the dynasty is back on," Portnoy said. "The Bills had their chance, they blew it... this team is back. Drake Maye is a superstar. The Patriots' dynasty... get used to this face. You had a decade off without Patriot football. Not anymore. Not anymore."

Yeah, it sounds like he's been down for a decade, doesn't it?

Nevertheless, it's hard to fault Portnoy for being excited after the Pats have been mostly irrelevant since the departure of Tom Brady.

One thing we will take him to task on is even mentioning Maye as possibly being better than Allen. He has a long way to go before that can be said, but Maye is at least on the right track.

And, while the win was impressive and no doubt a statement for New England, it's going to take more than just one to unseat the Bills as the AFC East king they have been for the last five years.

But, after Sunday night, we can at least begin having that conversation, something that seemed impossible in recent years.
