The Buffalo Bills appeared to have made a splash.
But then their waiver claim from the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pro Bowl cornerback Darius Slay, decided he wouldn't be coming to Western New York.
In a podcast appearance late Thursday night, Slay revealed why:
“I don’t feel like packing up and moving again. I’m 13 years in, I done did it. They would have caught me at like 28, 29? I might have been like ‘OK...' So, it wasn’t a bad fit, it just caught me at a bad time.”

This has another layer to it, too.
The Bills waived cornerback Ja'Marcus Ingram to make room for Slay. Ingram has been claimed by the Houston Texans.
But if Slay isn't even showing up, the Bills are actually down another CB now by losing Ingram.
It's one of those things that makes you wonder if there was a way Buffalo could've, on the low, figured out if Slay would show up.
Instead, the Bills are left lacking at a crucial position as December gets rolling. Not a good time for that at all, and it'd make sense at this point for Buffalo to look into any veteran free agents and try to find some kind of addition just to add depth to the CB room.
