Is Damar Hamlin still playing football? What to know about Bills' inspirational safety and injury image

The Buffalo Bills have a national audience late Sunday afternoon.

The Eagles and Bills are playing on a game broadcast on Fox to every TV in the country. And whenever the audience is that big, fans wonder about Damar Hamlin.

No one will ever forget where they were when the Bills' safety collapsed on the field against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Then he became an inspiring story, working his way all the way back to play in the NFL again.

But he's not out there for the Bills on Sunday.

Is Damar Hamlin still playing football?

Yes, Damar Hamlin is still playing.

He's still a member of the Bills, too.

Damar Hamlin is on Injured Reserve. He's been out for weeks now with a pectoral injury.

Even before his absence, Hamlin wasn't playing a ton. Cole Bishop had usurped Hamlin's role on the field.

But the Bills were still finding ways to use Hamlin on special teams and in occasional packages, and he was reliable depth.

Buffalo now is facing multiple injuries at the safety position, so not having Hamlin hurts.

He's not looking like he will make it back this season.
