Darius Slay created some buzz on Sunday by showing up to the Philadelphia Eagles' playoff game.
You see, Slay was a member of the Super Bowl champion Eagles last season. But now, he's technically under contract with the Buffalo Bills, who were also playing on Sunday.
But it's also not that simple.
Fans started wondering whether Slay can still play for the Bills with them remaining alive in the playoffs. And, well, it doesn't work like that.

Can Darius Slay still play for the Bills?
No, Darius Slay can't play for the Bills this season.
They claimed him on waivers from the Steelers midway through the campaign, but Slay never showed up.
The Bills placed him on the did-not-report reserve list. Once they did that, Slay became ineligible to play for Buffalo the remainder of the season.
The only way he could play again this season is if he gets cut and signs with another team, "and Brandon Beane isn’t doing that," writes The Athletic's Tim Graham.

It ends up being a total bummer of a waiver move for the Bills, yes.
But for Slay, he might as well go around and watch more playoff games, because he won't be playing in any himself this month.
