The Buffalo Bills' secondary had a rough outing in Week 1 against the Baltimore Ravens, surrendering 40 points to Baltimore. And while the Bills pulled off a massive comeback win, their cornerbacks simply aren't good enough to get them far in the AFC.

With this in mind, Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report says the Bills should try to acquire Cleveland Browns cornerback Greg Newsome.

“Cleveland Browns cornerback Greg Newsome II may also be difficult to obtain early in the season,” Knox writes. “Following a terrific performance against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 1—albeit in a loss—Cleveland’s defense again looks capable of making the Browns competitive. Newsome, meanwhile, was fantastic back on the perimeter for Cleveland. He helped limit Joe Burrow to just 113 passing yards while helping the Browns effectively shut down Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. The 25-year-old is on the fifth-year option, though, and could become a strong trade candidate if the Browns’ season quickly spirals out of control.”

Newsome has three interceptions over the last three seasons with the Browns, and he would immediately slot in as the No. 2 cornerback on the team.

The Bills drafted Max Hairston in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft, but he will miss at least the first four games due to a knee injury. Tre'Davious White has also been dealing with an injury, which left Day Three draft pick Dorian Strong as the other starter opposite Christian Benford.
