The Buffalo Bills entered the offseason with several questions at cornerback. Rasul Douglas is a free agent, and the Bills didn't bring him back (at least at the time of writing). They did, however, extend Christian Benford and brought back Tre'Davious White and Dane Jackson as depth pieces. Buffalo also drafted Max Hairston out of Kentucky in the first round in the 2025 NFL Draft, as well as Jordan Hancock out of Ohio State and Dorian Strong out of Virginia Tech.
Per Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports, though, the Bills almost made a trade for a Pro Bowl cornerback, as Buffalo and Green Bay were in serious talks around Jaire Alexander.
"The Packers and Bills held trade talks this offseason centered around CB Jaire Alexander, but talks ultimately fell through and Buffalo moved on," Schultz posted on X. "It’s unclear if the Bills will revisit things now that Alexander has been released — especially since they spent a first-round pick on Maxwell Hairston — but they were a team that had shown real interest."
The Bills seemed to address cornerback heavily in the draft to ensure they had some more depth, as well as increase the likelihood of one pick hitting, similar to what they did with Kaiir Elam and Benford.
