The Buffalo Bills defense was eaten alive by the Baltimore Ravens, giving up 40 points in the season-opener. And while the wizardly and magic of Josh Allen bailed out that unit in a 41-40 win, the Bills have serious issues on the defensive side of the ball.
The poor play put on display by Taylor Rapp and Cole Bishop led to many Bills media and fans calling for Buffalo to sign former New England Patriots safety Jabrill Peppers, but that opportunity is no longer on the table.
Per Ian Rapoport, the former Patriots safety is signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
"Former Patriots S Jabrill Peppers, a surprise release after cut-down day, is expected to sign with the Steelers per me and Mike Garafolo," Rapoport reports. "They’ve agreed to terms."
The one player available at the position now who could be a legit difference-maker is Justin Simmons. Will the Bills make the move? The definitely should.
